Oklahoma NAWGJ SGB Minutes Meeting on 10/5/2021

  1. Zoo Review
    1. 130 participants so far. Reminders were sent to gyms.
    2. Gifts: 
      1. Teresa has ordered the bears. She is unsure of when they will come in.
    3. Awards: 
      1. Teresa is working with Leissner to coordinate the awards. 
    4. Judges
      1. 2 sessions a piece
      2. No hotels needed. Assignments will be appropriate for proximity.
    5. Assignments and Rotations
      1. Put together by Alicia and Liz
  2. Judges Cup Team
    1. Only injury or illness with a doctor's note will excuse an athlete from going to the Judges Cup if they make the team. If they elect to not participate without a doctor's note, then they will be liable for paying back the stipend to the Oklahoma Judges. 
    2. Julie is working on creating a form for athletes to sign once they make the team that lists this agreement. 
  3. Judges Cup Athlete Stipends
    1. Discussion on how much the stipend would be for the athletes and whether to raise or lower last year's stiped of $250/kid.
    2. Discussion of when to tell the athletes about the amount of the stipend - before or after they make the team. 
    3. Conversation tabled for later so we can wait to see how many entries will be received and the amount collected from entry fees. 
    4. Will revisit via text on 10/12.
  4. Buddy Program for Improving Judging Skills
    1. Discussion of an appropriate title for the mentorship program 
    2. Decision that the partners will remain the same until the end of the season 
  5. Testing Updates
    1. 5 more judges will be testing soon. 2 doing one part. 3 new testers. 
  6. Next Meeting set for 11/16 at 6:15.
